KVC Aims & Objectives


To conserve, protect and enhance that area of Leeds generally known as the Kirkstall Valley for the benefit of local residents.

To promote freedom of information and open government, to inform the public of any matters affecting the Kirkstall Valley, and to discover, publicise and promote local opinions on such matters.

To regenerate derelict and under-used sites, while having particular regard to the local need for recreational open space.

To reflect as far as practicable the consensus view of local residents, promoting those changes supported by local residents and opposing inappropriate developments which in the opinion of local residents adversely effect the local environment.

To cooperate with local and national government and other voluntary organisations to further the above objectives and to provide cultural, educational, recreational, social and welfare facilities, without distinction of sex or political, religious or other opinion.
